Last month, the Pew Research Forum published the results of a poll that found that one-third of young adults under 30 in America are not affiliated with religion.

Because of these findings, we decided to designate our usual Cafe podcast episode to chatting with a young adult woman enrolled in seminary. Janelle Neubauer, 24, is in her first year at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. She talks with Cafe’s editor, Elizabeth McBride, about this topic and more. Not only does Janelle offer insights for how churches can reach a young adult audience, she shares how congregations can support her as she develops into a leader of this church.

As a woman under 30, do you agree with Janelle? How do you respond to this poll? Please share your comments below.
