About the Cover

The Earth Issue:
We Are What We Eat: Considering the Hands and Lands that Give Us our Daily Bread

As spring breaks across the land, we celebrate the renewal of our planet in Issue 4 of Café. This month’s cover image was inspired by an early morning stroll in San Antonio, Texas. Café designer, Beth McBride captured the perfect stillness of morning along the famed River Walk in the heart of San Antonio. Soon after this photo was taken, the River Walk started to come alive with patrons enjoying the warmth of the sun-filled morning. As they sat at the tables and sipped their morning coffee, the colorful table umbrellas waved in the breeze as if to joyfully welcome another beautiful day. We hope you enjoy this unique café offering from the heart of Texas!
