The Money Issue Faith & Money: Why We Give Back, How We Make It Happen

Issue 3 of Café brings more thought-provoking artistic insight from Women of the ELCA staff member and Café designer, Beth McBride. The original photograph on the main page of this issue was shot in a café in northern Illinois. This simple and familiar image—a dimly lit café, punctuated with sunlight streaming through the windows—immediately evokes several thoughts and feelings. A longer look gives the viewer some real food for thought, especially once they delve into the content of this issue. Which is the larger gift: the hot coffee and tasty morsels served by the café or the gift of rejuvenation one senses in a favorite spot? Ms. McBride has once again found a creative and distinctive way to highlight the issue’s theme. We deeply appreciate her permitting the use of this photo here. Interior art elements (photography and banner art) are also the work of Beth McBride. The models in the Hot Topic article are Ceciley Boykin and Nancy Goldberger.
