To Liz and other young women longing for community, perhaps this can be a virtual community for you? It would be wonderful if Cafe could function that way. And in your "real" communities, I do hope you encounter welcoming communities of women. If they don't seem too welcoming initially, try moving out of your comfort zone and connecting with them nonetheless. Sometimes groups that are more set-in-their-ways need a little push to open up, but once they do, you'll find them to be quite welcoming.

After graduating from college two years ago, I have truly missed the faith community I had grown to love in that place. I miss sitting on the floor with my roommate and praying before exams, after hard breakups, and during times of great thanksgiving and joy. I miss my prayer cirlce and worship team. It is scary to move into the world, away from family and friends, and find a way to re-create a faith community. Since graduation, I have moved several times, and have jumped from church to church, looking for a community to call my own, for a community, more importantly, that will call me theirs. I pray with and for all of us who seek community, that God will open doors we never knew existed, and that He will open our hearts to people we have never met.

As usual, Diane cuts through the clutter and so totally nails it! I encourage everyone to forward on "Boldly Sharing Faith" to at least five people! (Tweet about it, too, or share it any other social networking community of your preference!)
