Do you think you are in good heart health?
For Liz, the article about "When Bullies get to work..." was REALLY good. People tend to ignore this problem, but it is a common approach for women beginning???? certainly evident in high school and the workplace (yes church too).
Thanks Liz for getting the word out.
Posted by: Dee CA) Posted: 10/8/2008 11:41:07 AM I think my heart health could be better. I smoke still, regrettably, and I love eating red meat. But, I do exercise regularly, and for the most part I eat healthy.

Posted by: Janelle Hooper (Naperville, IL) Posted: 9/19/2008 3:36:22 PM Congregation: Our Saviour's Lutheran Church I think it's hard for our seminarians to be in good heart health. The ELCA mandatory health insurance plan for seminarians doesn't provide preventive care, and many seminarians are second-career. Add to that the rigors of a master's-level program, caring for a family, ministry internships, and part-time work, and you're looking at a group of people who are at high risk of health crises. There are a few ELCA programs that try to help, such as handing out pedometers, but the lack of good care early in ministry means a lot of unhealthy pastors later on. Come on, ELCA. It's not too late to change!
