What ways are you being a good steward of the earth? What will you do differently after reading this article?
Happy Earth Day everyone! Thanks, Sarah, for getting the conversation started here. I noticed that the April issues of many popular magazines featured all kinds of suggestions of what we call "being a good steward of the earth." Here's one thing I'm going to try in our family of four. REAL SIMPLE magazine said the average American uses something like 2,200 paper napkins per year, and so the suggestion is to switch to cloth napkins. We're going to try that in our house; we already have lots of cloth napkins, so it's just a question of making the change. Maybe we'll jazz it up a bit and let each of us pick a very cool napkin ring holder. (That way we can reuse the napkins as long as practical and know whose is who.)

It can seem overwhelming to affect change, but each step we take and encourage others to take will create change. I suggest that we all request our churches and councils to also take this mission to heart! Thank you for this article! P.S. I did start a compost pile this weekend!
