conversation on this month's topic.
Faith Reflections
discussion questions
by Sarah Stumme
1. What passages or stories in Scripture speak to you and help you respond
to loss and grief?
2. What is a faithful response to grief or to someone
grieving?
3. Advent is approaching. One of its rituals is to light a candle
each week. The candles are lit to symbolize the hope of God’s presence
even during the darkest nights. Sometimes all we can do during times of
grief is to keep vigil and to sit through the night until the light
shines. Keeping vigil helps us make space for the pain and silence. What
are ways that you make space for the pain and loss in your own life or
in the lives of the people around you?
4. The Bible is full of passages of hope and promise. What passages do you cling
to? How do you let them hold you?
