Visit the Women of the ELCA grants page, where you will find the 2006 grant recipients and information about how to apply for 2007 grants. Grants are given to projects that address the health of women and girls, and that includes nutrition and healthy living projects.

New Hunger resources

Granting Hope
The ELCA approved  $778,845 in discretionary domestic grants in 2006 focusing on three areas: relief, development, and organizing. Visit the list of 2006 recipients.

It's never too early
The Domestic Hunger grant catalog offers current information about organizations and congregations that have received funding through domestic hunger grants. Are you involved in a ministry or program that could qualify? New applications are available in July.

ONE Lutheran
The ELCA Washington Office, the advocacy wing of the church, offers ways that Lutherans can get involved in several advocacy areas, especially in the ONE campaign that is targeted toward wiping out global poverty, hunger, and AIDS. You can also check out Café's May 2006 issue.

America's Second Harvest — The Nation's Food Bank Network
Would you like to assist the food bank facility in your community? This Web site features comprehensive information about the topic of hunger and enables visitors to get involved.

Bread for the world
This nationwide Christian movement works toward promoting justice for the world's hungry by lobbying government leaders. You can get involved in a letter campaign with the helpful information on their Web site.
